This is the location recce and risk assessment we carried out at our second location, outside the entrance of Manshead Upper School.
Location: Manshead Upper School- Entrance
Date of visit: 18/10/11
Description of scene to be filmed here: We intend to film the footage of the presenter talking to the camera whilst walking into the entrance of Manshead Upper School.
Lighting level: As the location is outside, the lighting level depends on the weather.
Noise level: There isn't much noise at this location but when the roads surrounding the school get busy, it does get noisy.
Potential Hazards: As the path we intend to film is just of off a road which can get busy at certain times in the day, there is the hazard of someone being hit by a car. However, the road is fairly quite outside of the times of 8am-9am and 3pm-3:30pm when the road is at its busiest. As the location is outside the weather could cause some hazards as-well. Also students interfering with the filming of our documentary could cause problems too.
Overall suitability: Overall this location is suitable for the short scene it is required for.
When testing the suitability of the location we noticed some hazards which may cause problems for us during filming. We have therefore created a risk assessment to see how we can prevent problems from arising.
