Storyboards

For our product, we have created the following storyboards based on the first 5 minutes of our documentary. We have included a colour coded key to show which part of the description is dialogue, camera movement and sound.


Storyboard 1

In this storyboard we have shots of social networking sites and introduce our subject matter, social networking. Emily Keens will be doing the voice over for the dialogue included in this storyboard. The sound used for the background music will be explained later.

Storyboard 2

This is the second storyboard for our 5 minute extract of our documentary. In this story board, we introduce the positive aspects to social networking which are further developed in the documentary. Like in the first one, Emily Keens will be doing the voice over for the dialogue included in this storyboard. The background music used in these shots will be continuing from the first set of shots in the storyboard 1.

[Update 6/1/12- After shot 6 we have decided to include two small vox pop interviews. They will be mid shots and have a cut edit on them.]


Storyboard 3
This is the third storyboard we have created for the beginning of our documentary. In this storyboard, we introduce a different perspective to social networking which will be investigated in the documentary. We include a short clip from an interview which takes place later on in the show which includes Head Teacher, Mr. Parker.

[Update 27/3/12- Shot 10 will now consist of two shots of FaceBook. In-between these two shots there will be a dip to black effect. The second shot of FaceBook will then have a black and white effect put on it.]

Storyboard 4
This is the fourth storyboard to our 5 minute extract from our documentary.In this storyboard, we introduce the title of our documentary, the producer and begin the documentary with the topic of cyber bullying. Emily Keens, who has been doing the voice overs in the previous storyboards, will be introduced properly here.

[Update 23/3/12- After shot 14, there will now be a dip to white transition.]


Storyboard 5

This is the fifth storyboard we have created for the first 5 minutes of our documentary.In this storyboard, Emily Keens continues to perform the voice overs to create continuity throughout the documentary. There is also no added sound as this is a serious part to our documentary and the dialogue spoken by Emily Keens needs the full attention of the audience.

Storyboard 6
This is the final storyboard drawn up for our 5 minute extract of the documentary we wish to produce. In this storyboard, like in storyboard 5, there is no added sound because the presenter needs full attention. In this part of our extract we introduce Mr. Parker in his interview with the presenter, Emily Keens, about cyber bullying.

[Update 18/11/11- After looking back at our footage we have decided to have the questions being asked in the interview written in the frame]

[Update 13/12/11- We have decided to have the background music play throughout the documentary up to the interview as we felt the silence created awkward pauses]


[23/3/12- After our teacher consultation, we have decided to stop the background music before the presenter starts to speak and to have all the edits as fades. We have also decided to replace some of Mr Parker's interview with a new presenter link and an interview with a victim of cyber bullying. Two of the responses from Mr Parker will also have cut away shots of a report page and a teenager using a laptop. The new storyboard will be as follows:
