Location Recce & Risk Assessment: Location 1

This is the location recce and risk assessment we carried out at our first location, Manshead Upper School's Library.


Location: Manshead Upper School- Library

Date of visit: 18/10/11
Description of scene to be filmed here: We intend to film the footage of the presenter talking to the camera in-front of a computer in this location.

Lighting level: There's a good level of lighting in this location due to the windows and the ceiling lights.
Noise level: It can get quite noisy when it's busy. However if we were to choose a time in the day when it isn't busy, the noise level should be okay for filming.

Potential hazards: There are lots of computers and high shelves containing lots of books at this location. As the location can get very busy, students could get in the way or disrupt the filming process.
Overall suitability: This location is suitable for our documentary as it has the computers we require for the shot.

When testing the suitability of the location we noticed some hazards which may cause problems for us during filming. We have therefore created a risk assessment to see how we can prevent problems from arising.
