Mindmaps of Ideas

These are the mindmaps we created when we were discussing our documentary. We discussed:

  1. the name of the documentary
  2. the ordering of topics/events in the documentary
  3. the interview subjects we could use
  4. the locations needed for filming
  5. the presenter
1. Here we discussed the different names and slogans for our documentary. We wanted to come up with an interesting name that would entice our target audience to watch it.

(If the mindmap doesn't work, please refresh the page)

We decided to name our documentary, 'Faceless.' The slogan for it will be, 'Who's following you?' We decide upon this name because it's interesting and quite bazaar. The inspiration for this name came from the social networking site, FaceBook. The question which acts as a slogan will draw the audience in and engage their attention.

2. Here we ordered each of the different sections into a logical order.
The final order is as follows:
  1. Introduction- introduce the topic of social networking and begin online experiment
  2. Cyber bullying
  3. Collaborative working
  4. Privacy/security
  5. Connecting people
  6. Marketing for businesses
  7. Conclusion- conclude argument and draw online experiment to a close
We decided upon this order as it is logical and mixes the advantages and disadvantages of social networking sites together so the audience doesn't get bored.

3. In the mindmap below we discussed who we could interview in our documentary. We also discussed where their interview would take place and the costume/outfit they should wear.

We have decided to ask Mr Parker, who is the Headteacher at Manshead Upper School, to feature in our documentary and be asked about social networking sites. We have also decided the interview will take place in his office and he is to wear a smart suit to show his authority. We also thought it would be good to interview a victim of cyber bullying as a variety of perspectives will be included.
[Update 17/10/11- Mr Parker has agreed to be interviewed for our documentary]

4. In this mindmap we discussed the different locations we could use for filming.

(If the mindmap doesn't work, please refresh the page)
We decided to use the following locations:
  • An office when filming the interview.
  • A path in Manshead Upper School where the presenter will address the camera.
  • Manshead Upper School Library where the presenter will address the camera.
We also noted that we will need to film onscreen computer images via a piece of software. This will be done at either Jasmine's or my house using our personal computers.

5. In the mindmap below we discussed who will be the presenter in our documentary.
(If the mindmap doesn't work, please refresh the page)

The audience should be able to relate to the presenter of the documentary so we have decided that the presenter will be the same age as them (16-19 years old). They will also be able to relate to the costume/outfit worn by the presenter and we have therefore decided they should wear casual clothes. The casting director has therefore decided that I (Emily Keens) will present and do the voice-overs in the documentary.
